Many condoms today do not have spermicide (Nonoxynol 9). Use them like you would any other condom.

1. They do not contain spermicide
Besides being more comfortable than latex condoms, spermicide-free condoms are also safer. Nonoxynol 9 is known to damage beneficial bacteria in the vagina and increase the risk of bacterial vaginosis. It can also irritate the penis and anus, which increases the risk of getting HIV and other STDs.
Condoms without spermicide are much more cost-effective than those that are coated with spermicide. Plus, they’re often just as effective at preventing unwanted pregnancy. Spermicide-free condoms are available in a wide range of colors, textures, shapes and sizes. Many of them are made from natural latex, and some have low odor. Some are even FSA eligible.

4. They do not contain silicone
If you’re allergic to latex, SKYN’s condoms are made from polyisoprene, which is similar to the material used in a lot of rubber gloves. They’re not recommended for people with severe latex allergies, however. Another great nonlatex option is the lubricated LOLA condoms. Made of low-odor natural rubber latex, they’re also vegan and come lubricated with medical-grade silicone oil.
